Franz Josef Strauß Prize for Maia Sandu, President of Moldova

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has been awarded the Franz Josef Strauß Prize by the Hanns Seidel Foundation for her contributions to liberal democracy and her commitment to European values in the Republic of Moldova.

In her home country, the politician is successfully advocating for freedom, the rule of law, and against corruption and abuse of power. She is also a staunch supporter of Ukraine.
